BARBER & BLING - My 2nd lunch hunt
First off, I want to apologize for these cr-ppy pictures. My daughter said my old camera that holds a full sized floppy was a "dinosaur". I used her new "better" camera today. I'm going back to my dinosaur.
I hit my new plantation house at lunch today, and made a few more finds in the front yard.
Can you say "Barber"?
I dug a 1910 Barber dime by a small shrub.
Then a bit later I had a iffy signal. I dug a ring with a letter "A" on it close to a large root. It is old, but silver plated. There are some letter on the inside, but all I can make out are a "Nem".
I dug three wheats today - 1918 , 1944 , 1945.
After work I swung by to talk to the lady (owner). She was raised on this farm, and gave me a tour. She showed me where two tenant houses (slave shacks) are, a deep open well in the woods, old chicken coop, some massive oaks, a garden used 50-70 years ago, barns, etc.
She showed me a picture of when her and her brothers were young kids shooting bow & arrows. I found three more tips today.
She was very excited to see those.
She also told me that two guys had MD'd here a few years ago, but only out in the woods. They were no doubt looking for CW relics. Thanks for leaving me some goodies whoever you were.
Anyways, I'll be back at it tomorrow for a long Saturday hunt.
Thanks for looking,
MM
