Ray Jr. and I ran out to the park we had found the Barbers at, for a couple hours between the raindrops.. I was about 50 feet from where we found the Barbers and after digging some trash I had a good strong quarter signal.. I popped the plug at about 4" and was expecting a clad but the lady was standing waiting for me about a half inch in the plug!! "1928" About 10 feet more and pulled a 1919 merc.. Jr. was having some luck also with a wedgewood silver and a communion holder for a priest for sick visits or last rites.. Not to be out done he also came up with a 1919 merc also..I found a 58 cal. ball and Ray found a brass piece that might of came from the train station that was there in the early 1900's A few wheats and a 41 Canadian..

Excellent SLQ and mercs! What's weird is that 1928 date comes up quite a bit, at least it has this year on this forum - and it's about in middle for mintage numbers out of all of the years. I think just about everyone has got one and it's a 1928. Yours is sweet though ;-)

VERY NICE SLQ AND CAMEO!

......................Excellent Finds there Man.........Congrats...........

You've got the touch Man! Great finds all around!

Nice finds  There are a lot of Lambert's here in the Kankakee area.

Great hunt. Nice spot you have there. I like the standing liberties more than older barbers.

I know the stock market crash was in 1929, so people held on to their money a little tighter after that year. People lived high on the hog all through the twenties (roaring 20's) up until 1929. But that still does'nt explain why there isn't more earlier SL's being found. It's a mystery.
