Four hours, two locations in the scorching heat today, but hey, a Barber quarter! Couple of wheats, 1927 Canadian penny, and a "modern health crusader" plated stick pin head. Oh, and don't forget the headless teddy bear haha!

These two pieces are interesting, can you tell me what the coin is and what the 'hanger' was for? :icon_scratch:

Hey thanks Antiquarian!

The little "coin" is actually a lapel pin with the pointy part missing from the back. It was so crusty I thought it was a nickel until I got home and saw the glint of gold. It really got me excited, even though I know gold usually comes out of the ground rather clean. It says "modern health crusader" on it, and is believe it's from 1920. I am including a photo example of what it would look like cleaned up.

The other little thing, my wife tells me, is part of a necklace. It's very light, unfortunately not any precious metal.

I was very happy with the Barber quarter, my 3rd ever. I dug carefully, but there was a big rock in the hole with the quarter and it got a bit scratched. Oh well, she's pretty smooth to begin with and I am not going to complain!

Thanks everybody for the kind replies.

Very cool pin, I've never seen that one before, at least you were able to figure out what it is!
The Barber is a good find ... the only thing that would have made it better is if it was a Vickie! :tongue3:

Thanks for the followup info Cache,
Dave
