Finally found the spot within the spot!! I researched a revival weekend that occurred in 1905 at a picnic grove this winter. Took a lot of digging to figure out the location, but I found it now! Oh yeah!!!

Today it's nothing more than a fishing spot/cartop boat launch/underage drinking spot on county land at a deadend, but back in the day it was the place. Boats dropped off the God fearing people, and now I'll dig there lost loot!!!!!!!!!

I stumbled onto the area in the last hour of hunting, and was able to dig 2 barbers!!! (1903 dime & 1904o quarter) Along with 3 wheats (24, 34 & ??) My first barber quarter! What a sight in the hole!!!!!

Nice to hear the sweet sound of "old silver" again!!!!! No mistaking that......."I'll be back!"

Great job, bud, on the great research. In today's metal detecting hobby, research is a must when it comes time to find the goodies! There should be more Barbers and maybe some Seated there!

Superb coins, wtg and congrats on the sweet twins!!
Best of luck on return!

Smiles!

Nice! Make sure you put them in the offering plate, as was intended ;D.

Wow, great finds and Great Research.

I know what you mean about just stumbling onto a spot, my partners and I have done it many times. One time we were looking for a guys fishing knife but his boat dock. We found three other knives that he had lost over the years, but not the most current one. He thanked us for our efforts and then told us of a site that we should try hunting in the water. As we walked in the water towards this site, we found Indian head pennies, V-Nickels, cigarette lighters, old beer bottles and coke bottles, you name it. We have been hunting this site that this fellow gave us for many years now and we are still finding some goodies.

Like the old metal detector saying goes, you just never know what your going to dig up, in the water or on land.

Congrats on your first Barber Quarter and a two Barber day to boot!! Must be more there and now that you hit a honey hole, just enjoy the ride!

U R the man! Great job of persistence. Most of the time it is lessons learned, but occasionally it is the sweet smell of success.

WTG on those cool digs ;) .....love the sight of old silver sittin' at the bottom of a dug hole or plug. Congrats on the first Barber quarter.
