Research showed it could be a tap but the threads in the curved decorative drop spout have me puzzled. Could it be a lamp valve or something with machinery?

Looks like it very well could be a valve for a gas lamp... :dontknow:

Have you tried to turn the knurled piece to see if it unscrews?
Is that a seal under it?

Pressure relief valve?

I think it's part of an old gas valve. Maybe from a lamp or radiator?

I'm thinking it was part of a water sprinkler apparatus....

Maybe some variant of a float valve.

The part that is opposite the slotted stem. (on the far right in the pictures)
Is it open or sealed?

Could you post a picture of it?

That looks like a grease / oil cup from a piece of machinery. It would be oriented vertically and the smaller hole would have a flapper door that would close to keep it covered so no debree gets in.
