Don't wish to open a can of worms but some detectors don't work well with rechargeables.
Those made to operate with rechargeables are fine but some aren't. My Tesoro DeLeon didn't work worth a flip with rechargeables. The voltage was too low as AA rechargeable batteries are 1.2 volts as apposed to 1.5 with regular batteries.
So, before buying those expensive rechargeables, check first with your owners manual.
Badger P.S. I wasted $40 buying a setup I couldn't use.
That is one heck of a deal, for the old flashlights, radios , GPS or what have you.....I use a rechargable for the detectors so that would not help me............But never can have enough batteries !!!!
We are a rechargeable family though....we have two chargers and everything and anything that uses batteries are rechargeable. I carry extra batteries with me and hubby has his secondary battery pack as well. Since we have used these rechargeables, we have saved so much money, esp when Christmas time comes around...seems everything Santa brings the kids requires batteries LOL
Well since you put it that way, I agree Sherm, LOL! Heck, even my 17 year old Garrett that takes 6-9 volt batteries had no problems using the older style Nicads. Just hate to see a lot of money wasted if it isn't necessary. HH and good deal on those batteries, Mike
