Battle of Morrisville, NC - Union Eagle Button with fabric AMAZING!

[SOSDIVING]

This Union eagle button was found at a housing development during construction and amazingly all 3 pieces fell apart in my hand when first found. The fabric still exists between the backing and the front of the button. Nice shiny gold gilt too! Amazing the fabric still exists, with 3 layers. Battle of Morrisville, NC. Thanks for looking and best of hunting to you...

That button has quite a lot of the gold left on it. Congrats on the find.

Sweet button, lots of gilt left on that puppy not to mention the fabric interior. Just give it a light brushing and put it in a good display.

Very nice Staff Button you got there.

I dug a NY State Button last weekend that did the same thing but there was not any fabric inside , thought it was a 2 piece button until I cleaned it and realized there was a small Rim that will only attach to the face of the button from the front.
Did your button have this Rim ? if so it would be just under the stars, just curious .
Mine has the Extra Quality Back Mark.

Congratz on the awesome find.

Really nice find.

Awesome find! Congrats. I've dug a lot of CW relics over there in that area years ago. Not by the housing development, but on one of the old properties by the RR tracks. You may know the spot. I spoke to an older gentleman there in town that used to detect. He said they were digging bullets up by the bucketful back in the day.
Well done,
Doug
