It becomes difficuilt to find anything on the place, intensively detected many times by me and not only by me, but I tried it this Friday. Result was expected, and the only find which was not real rubbish, is shown here - state is far from "uncirculated" :)

According to the unknown yet physical laws, I switched to attempts to meet some eyeball finds next morning:). Sometimes it was not very unsuccessful.

However, all finds with eyes were exclusively 50 pfennig coins dated 1920s

Finally day turned to its end and I researched another field for 2 hours in the darkness - normally I feel better and find more when I do not see a screen of the detector - just listening- preps, 6 years of music school play some role in it. A bit of raining as well as pounds of mud on my shoes did not help much in the area surrounding old (16century) earthworks. Here is a result: anyway some .900 silver and tin bronze button are always wishful finds.

Bad state polish coin dated 1923 - very unusual for our location.

Hans Schemm' pin - He was one of Nazi leaders here in Upper Franconia, died in 1935 through airplane crash.

Murphy's law in action - as soon as came back home, rain stopped.

Sunday morning - after some discussions and milk breakfast I decided to visit forest.

This trees became a target for the next 2 hours

Coins some times were laying on the surface.

My first impression was that I dig a grenade, but being driving Bicycle every day for lkast 6 years, I identified it as a dynamo for the bicycle lights.

After ~20 pieces of rubbish jackpot came - commemorative medal of Kaiser Friedrich, which says something like "do not complain on difficulties of learning"

Another pile of 1960s# rubbish

Another side of detecting in forest - this small <1mm tick got my blood - waiting for the consequences - this animal is a carrier of some heavy diseases - so if I do not post after 1 week - means worst :)

Spring is coming

Nice finds, Sand!

Except for the tick. That sucker has it's head buried!

I feel for you. I picked up a tick during my last hunt too. It was buried deep when I found it the next day. I got most of it out but had to go to the doctor to get the rest of it cut out. Not fun :( Watch out for those ticks folks...especially if you're doing any woods or field hunting.

Wow !! Nice finds. We had a huge increase in ticks here last summer. It was easy to get 15 to 20 jump on before you were 100 feet into the woods. My neighbor got Lyme's disease from one and it took him about 5 years to recover.HH....Panz

Thoes suckers run in cycles. Check on the net for your area and you will see if they most likely do or not. I cant remember but i think its 2nd or thrid cycle that do it. Most likely your safe this early in the year.

Nice finds. I also don't like those suckers...They well...uhh...literally suck! >:(

Great finds!!! You sure do take wonderful looking pictures, especially the flower!!!! What kind of camera do you use?

Great story and great photos, Sand. We all must check for ticks after detecting in the woods.

Great stuff. I like hunting old farm fields! I believe I gave a tick a disease once!

Thanks all for the responses, I am still in life - looks like I've got an immunity some time ago, when I was bitten by lots of them in very short time during geological trips in Siberia, Russia.

I use Sony cybershot DSC-S700, the cheapest camera I saw in the next media shop, camera itself does not matter much, I just improve photos a bit in photoshop software :)

Really an enjoyable post. Some great finds too!

Is it easy getting permission to detect?
