bayonet?

I bought this at a garage sale a little while back for $10.

It looks like an old rifle bayonet. Can anybody tell me exactly what kind of knife it is?

The handle looks like wood.

Its a Ka-Bar. I believe they were issued to the Marines. Nice buy for $10 you didn't get hurt any at all.

Wrong. It's a US Army and Air Force survival knife made by Ontario Knife Co in New York. If you lok on the butt end you will see "Ontario" and the date manufactured.

Sure looked like a Ka-Bar to me, oh well I learn something new all the time. Can you take some more pics of the markings on the knife so we can see what he is talking about.

Not a Marine issue. I still have mine and passed it onto my son. He is on third tour with Force Recon. He had to get a new sheith, but the old K-bar keeps doing what you ask of it. They don't have serrations on top.
