I have been to tybee island and it is legal

just stay off the grassy dunes

yes. Here is the laws: You send me 30% of all your finds (I accept paypal). If you have any doubt as to that rule, just email me. And I will reply to the affirmative (then you will have it in writing). I authorize you to detect the beaches. If anyone asks "what are you doing?", you tell them "Tom_in_CA said I could". And that you're looking for the ring you lost their last night.

Any other questions ?

Thanks

No detectors allowed on Jekyll island. Tybee island you can detect beaches.

Last I knew one could detect Tybee and St. Simons Islands' beaches. Almost all barrier island beaches are National Wildlife Refuges or State Wildlife Management Areas, detecting strictly forbidden, and they can only be accessed by boat anyhow. Good luck, and let us know how you did. I've never done any beach hunting, but think about it time to time.

How about Hilton Head? Gonna spend a week there.
