I have put boots on the ground to search some of the peoples claims of deciphering the codes, so far nothing has been found. I only check out the ones that have a slight chance of being true. As I have had about 40 claims sent to me over the years as far away as Arizona and California. None of them have been correct with a deciphering yet. I published and copyrighted my decipherment in 1989. There was a large sinkhole at my location about 15 to 18 feet in diameter and a depression of about 2 feet. Around the surrounding area, I found two coins a Pillar Dollar and a French silver coin both dated before 1822. Peter Veimeister made pencil tracings of the two coins at his bookstore in Bedford City. After Peter passed away, I asked his wife for the pencil drawing but she could never find it. I believe the Wright Family recovered the treasure in the 1950's. We dug in the depression and found it had been dug before. We found a couple wine bottles dated in the 1950's so putting the two wine bottles with the two coins found nearby, I figured they found the pots of gold and silver; threw a few coins in celebration of course silver coins they would never throw gold coins. Large salt kettles did wash out of that branch into North Goose Creek in the late 1990's and was in the Bedford and Roanoke Newspapers. Anyway, the Wright Family could not pay their taxes when the left Bedford County but after going to Mexico they became extremely wealthy. Their children jet-setting all over the world. Breakfast in Florida and then supper in the afternoon in New York. They returned to Bedford County and had an old folks home built. Why would they have sentimental values over a county where they were so poor they could not pay their taxes. Then of course there was Buck Wright, the oldtimer that searched for the Beale Treasure for years lived on a Blue Ridge Parkway ridge over-looking Buchannon, Virginia. As far as I am concerned I believe I solved the Beale Cipher Codes and I published it in 1989 and 1990 with a copyright. I have since that time printed and published two books. The first was a story of the travel up the Arkansas River to Sante Fe along with all 3 cipher codes deciphered including the names and locations of the 30 associates and their heirs. The other book, I published only last year or year before last contains all the research necessary to prove the existence of the Beale Treasure story with the codes and how it evolved. I located Hunter's Hill, where the Risque/Ward Home stood, the cemetery and one of the grave headstones of James Beverly Ward, Jr. that was killed in a hunting accident. Also, the location where Robert Morris' wife Sarah died and is buried. Robert Morris is most likely buried here too but he died on the 231 acre Roslin Plantation of Azoletta Saunders, wife of David Saunders The book contains all the deeds for Hunter's Hill, also maps and surveys to verify the location. I also found Roslin it is a plantation in Bedford County, not in Lynchburg nor Campbell County. All the deeds and maps are included for Roslin. Then the Washington Inn or Washington Tavern, I include all the deeds from the time it was a surveyed lot through all the deed transferred up to what it is today the Arlington Hotel.
