Fortunately being about 24 carrat this hammered gold coin should straighten perfectly. Looks like Edward 111 post treaty half noble Calais mint 'e' in centre of reverse. Just got to love this hobby

UK Gold of the first water!

It's a half-Noble made of the most noble metal. It lies underground for 600 - 700 years and comes up with tremendous detail and the 'look of gold'.

Incredible. Have fun up in the stratosphere with this one, you'll come down a bit maybe next year.

I've always said it's a better chance to strike it rich by working for it metal detecting than taking the chance at winning the lottery. But, the chance of a find like that in the States? Pretty certain I did post one. Would not have been on this thread though. Would have been a couple of weeks after sending it away for repair. Coin of course real .
