Found in SE Wyoming along a creek. I've never found a point quite like this.

Any suggestion on what it could be?

Love that spring is just around the corner!!!!!

Dunno, but a very nice find. Congrats!!

Beautiful find. Add a handle and I could picture it used as a knife.

Very nice find, congrats! :occasion14:

Wow! That’s a beauty. Congrats

Beautiful point. Not sure what it was used for. Maybe a spear as someone else said.

That's an awesome looking point but I have no clue what type it is.

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Spear is my guess.

I believe that's called a Hell Gap spear point. And a very nice one at that. Gary

That was my first thought too, and a very well-developed example at that. And I'm going one more step with banner on this great find.

I don't know much about native American relics but that looks like a really nice one and does not look like a very common style of tool either. Nice work!

Very nice point! Post it in the Native American Indian Artifacts forum. You will likely hear a lot about it there as well.

Looks like a Dandy HellGap point to me...definitely Paleo...Congrats!!!

Banner Hell Gap point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did some work at the Powers II Clovis site in Guernsey, WY, not far from the Hell Gap Site. That could be a very important find. Dr. Surovell at the University of Wyoming might be interested to see it. Do you mind if I share your pictures with Dr. RM Gramly? He'd love to see it as well.

What an awesome find. Looks like it was made and promptly lost or forgotten. Perfect condition. Good for you!

That is a beautiful piece of Native American workmanship, and from what I see in the previous replies it is a great example the Hell Gap point type.
Based on this I feel it is a Banner find and I will vote accordingly!
