CKK :laughing9: got out to our first new fall site. Kyle and I went yesterday to check out our fields that are pressing on our colonial brains. We have been doing drive byes to all our sites that we must hit. So far no fields have been cut. After an hour of seeing nothing but standing crops Kyle said. " one more site before we give up. Good thing because the soybean was cut. We went to the door of a nearbye home and the guy said the name of the farmer who owned it. We knew him from last year. The same guy owned the field where I found my beautiful Farthing. After talking to the owner who said " No problem...You won't be hurting anything and good luck." We started swinging and after about 7 minuted out came the most beautiful KG III that I ever found. Nice and thick with very prominent features. Then a nice Dandy button with Christian Crosses all over it. Another KG III, and a slug. These 2 were around 6 inches under. After about 2 hours I found my last copper. It registered 0 vdi and was 10 inches deep. Was 48 vdi out of the hole. It turned out to be a William III. 1695 to 1701. My oldest coin. We are looking forward to more harvested fields to attack. Hope you enjoy this thread.
Chris

What an enjoyable Sunday! :hello2: Digging this pure, strict Colonial site and popping all sorts of Colonial coinage. :notworthy::hello2: It was ridiculous. :laughing7: I bet Rose will love that Dandy button. :icon_thumleft:

Yeah Kirk it was awesome. I can't wait to show Rose the Dandy button. She will enjoy the significance.

is that a real KGIII?
seems like they're all counterfeit out here in the northeast.
don't think i've ever found a real one here in ny.
awesome hunt.

Very nice KGIII's. Third photo seems to have date of 1774, maybe?

Love looking at your loot.

Seems like you guys discovered another good site! Nice job on that sharp lookin Geo III

Great hunt Chris, you three could not ask for a much better result than you had! Always special when all three get some coppers and all colonial era time frame to boot! The nice KGIII Halfpenny is a counterfeit, a decent one at that......... Hope for much success for you all the rest of the fall and winter.

Don

What a day unc! This kind of day is what we look for in the fields of PA!

I agree, you and I needed this site to keep our enthusiasm for the hobby like it used to be. We're back...every other weekend! ;D
