So when you are out in the creeks and see the beaver sticks what do you do with them? I pick them up and carry them home. I have a friend that makes walking sticks out of them. I found this stick and he made me one its 4.5 feet tall just my size. He also does drift wood for displays. I found a nice piece and had to carry it a mile but I bet it will come out nice when he is done with it. Very nice gift. HH, rock

Very cool rock! Beaver leave a good design when they strip the bark. Turns out nice with a good stain. I'm going out to look for a small piece of driftwood to display my best ax on.

Thanks bsit when the drift wood gets done Ill post it. Not sure what to put on it. Maybe some will give some ideas.

I once made a small Adirondack style coffee table for a girlfriend out of beaver chewed sticks, actually looked pretty good. I let the sticks dry well, lightly stained them and used a thin coat of varnish to seal them. Sorry no photos, it was over 20 years ago and she and the table are long gone.

I use them for flipping sticks ;)

Just as I find them I got several in garage I've used them since I was a kid lol

Good looking hiking stick. I also make them and use a variety of woods, sassafrass, Ironwood (HH), osage, pecan and my favorite is yucca from the S.W..

I dont know the type of wood it is cause all of the bark was removed. But I always look for them when I am doing a creek hunt. He had another one done that had a purple hue on it. Very cool looking wooden stick.

Purple hue sounds like small black walnut or a poplar

That's really a clever idea!
