Can't help you with the bee ID, but that's a great shot!
 

Great capture. Not sure that's a bee as they have jaws and that bug has a tongue. I see those around here when the sun flowers come up. If I'm not mistaking it could be in the classification of a type of moth that looks more like a bee than a moth, but it'll take some looking to pin down what it truly is. If my dad was around maybe he could tell me as he'd taken courses in entomology at the University of Iowa, but his interest was more in eradicating bugs. One in particular I remember when I used to head out on the road with him was his pitch on getting rid of the Corn Borer larvae. He worked then for Monsanto.

Bumblebee. I call them "Bomblebees" for some reason. Very nice picture!
