since I posted, it's been a really rough few weeks. But I've been lurking and admiring everyone's finds, just too low-energy to chime in. Anyway, had a nice holiday, and got out Friday in grandma's yard and yesterday and today in my backyard. Some cool finds...I found this today, can't believe I got both pieces! I dug the saucer first, thought it was a love token or something, found the cup an hour or two later ten feet away (backyard's a very steep slope). Then I logged on, and in "What is it" someone seems to have a matching sugar bowl!

The silver quarter and dime are from Grandma's backyard - finally, I've been waiting for some silver from there, these are my first silver quarter and first silver Rosie :)

The Girl Scouts trefoil and flower are also from my backyard, and I found a men's id bracelet with a big silver-tone disk, soaking to try to remove more crud and read it better. Thanks for looking, and HH!

Great job Lara! Glad to see you are feeling better! I love the cup and saucer, to find them both is awesome! Is it silver?

Hey girl, nope - think it's pewter. The saucer has flowers and a hummingbird, very cute. Do you need me to help think up a suitable punishment for the boys' prank? ;)

A friend new to MD'ing just got an MD last week. So I took him out to one of
my favorite spots. He found the 3 items pictured, and I only found 2 wheats.
Was glad he got a good start tho.

thanks, Mark! But not my first silver dime, just first Roosevelt. I've found mercs and a Barber dime - curious about why slightly older silver seems more available? My very first silver was a walking liberty half. Any ideas about this?

Great finds. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on some firsts! There will be many more. Good luck.
