Beginner Gold Hunter

Hey all! I'm interested in gold hunting in the Los Angeles area. How should I get started on the hunt? I already have some detectors in mind and know a store close by. I was also wondering if I should join the GPAA?

Joining the GPAA is the single most important first step. Those guys will get you steered in the right direction. When I first started Gold searching in Colorado a few years back, the members were happy to take me under their wing and show me the ropes.
