My wife dug this up a couple months ago. Just got around to cleaning it up a bit. Washed, used steel brush and wire wheel.
Found at an old farm, finds range from mid 1700's through present day. Three homes existed on the property throughout the years. One mid to late 1700's, two built between 1850 and 1874.
This piece was found in the area we've been finding the older pieces, 1750's through about 1845. I'd say it's newer than that date range. It has what looks to be a wreath with something in the center on the top portion. Bottom is threaded under the nut, although it doesn't look to be threaded all the way down to the very bottom.
I haven't done a reverse image lookup yet, and haven't found where maybe a patent number might be either. Any ideas?
