I figured since I had the extra cash around,I put an ad up on Kijiji. It is a classified ad site,buy/sell trade. The ad said buying pre 1967 Canadian silver for 7 times face.I bought $200 face value in 80% Canadian silver quarters from 1 person!!!I think I'm going to hold on to it for a little while and see what the prices do.Hope everyone had a great and safe Halloween. Here's me and my vampire bride.

what a great haul, congrats! I advertise on craigslist to buy silver all the time! works great, helps out while I am unemployed!

I just got laid off on Tuesday,so I know how that feels.Hopefully I can get back to work soon.

Was that really a good deal? Can you sell 80% silver at more than 7 times face?

I know people who buy for 10 times face. They take it to a smelter and they usually pay 90% of the spot price for silver or better.Even if I sold for 10 times face,I would make $600 right now.I'm going to hold on to it for a little while and see what the price does

Really...

My best $1,400 bought me my first detector which has paid back in the multi thousands. I guess I should have bought two. :D

If I had the extra cash I would also buy silver coins. But don't wait to long before you sell it. When the economy start picking back up the gold and silver price will fall again. This is what happen in the early 80's......Matt

I think it's about 10 years too late to make any real money. I can see the US economy staying close to the same for a while and keeping gold and silver close to what they are now. For the people that hope for massive gains, there's no point, because everything else you own will probably drop and lose you more than you gained. It's like when my friend and I would go out and drink $200 worth of booze but yet be happy if we beat someone for $50 playing pool.

LOL, so true!!

US and world governments are running huge deficits, printing massive amounts of money.Over the next few years hard assets are the place to be,and no asset is harder than gold and silver.
