Looks silver... Feels silver... Sounds silver...
Found this yesterday while digging trash in front of a middle school. Also found some old tags that might have been liquor tax related so this fits with the theme. Will need to check old maps for liquor store but area has always been dry in my lifetime. Still need to clean up but don't see any markings yet. Can't find one even similar online searching. The smashed look is intentional and it is pretty stout metal, can't bend by hand.

Great find RW. Now, wonder who would wear a bottle cap around their neck? Maybe someone who worked for a bottling company, etc. - interesting find RW.

Very cool cap! (So much so, I googled it and found these. They look identical you yours.)

Tibetan Style Hammered Bottle Cap Pendants, Lead Free & Cadmium Free & Nickel Free, Antique Silver, Size: about 28mm in diameter, 5mm thick, hole: about 3mm (X-LF11942Y-NF)

Cool. What the heck did you search to find that? Shape does look identical, guess not old, but mine sure looks shiny in comparison.

That is one cool bottle cap. A first for me. Do you think the bottler was local or regional?:award_star_gold_2:
I guess after reading phishfindr's post it is not local.:laughing7:

Got curious about the "liquor bottle tax tags" and cleaned them up. Turns out they are tags for rose bushes, breeder, style, variety... not alcohol related in the least. So I guess the bottle cap was just a charm that some future beer drinker kid lost, not a silver cap from a bygone day. Oh well, dreaming keeps you going to dig that next hole... Maybe it's my destiny and I should wear it.

I've never seen these before. That is exceptionally sweet, a silver bottle cap.

I love silver and don't find enough, I hate bottle caps and find too many. Problem solved!

Congrats on the really sweet find sir!

I would dig them all day! Congratulations! :occasion14:
