Without seeing better photos, I'd say the toy car is from the 1930's. I don't think I'd try to clean the large cent any further. You'll probably just remove detail. As for "upgrading" the Equinox 600......maybe the 800! Seriously, it's about as good as it gets as an all around detector. In some areas of detecting, (such as iron infestation, bad EMI, deeper water, etc) there are other machines that might be a better choice, but, we'd need to know in what area you want to improve.
