Better Day Today

OK...new site today. My aunt owns an old store with a house next to it in a little town bout 20 miles over. Talked to her this mornin and got permission to hunt it. I e-mailed my huntin buddy to see if she wanted to go over with me, and she did. Got there at about 1 pm and doodled around the place all day. I seem to never have a plan when I get to a site. I just can't stay put in any one location for very long, even after all these months of detecting. :P Anyhow, I did manage to find a couple of keepers today.

Got a merc....1931
A rosie..........1950
A wheat........1955
A cow tag
A bunch a change
A tax token
I think one of those thingy's that goes on a tire?
And of course...the place is loaded with bullets....

You gotta get to everyone you know and ask for permission. Easy way to gain acess to a new site. You did good. Did your partner come away with any goods.

I'm sure the site needs to be gone over again a few times.

Great diggin Nana,really nice that you hace some family with a good hunting spot. I bet she could line up some more spots for ya with the traffic that comes through her store. Did your hunting buddy do any good? Ive only detected with a friend twice but had a great time both times,its more fun when you have someone else with ya. I have hunted with my kids quite a few times but its not the same they arent into it so much. One of my twins is starting to catch the bug though,hunted with him last sunday and he dug more clad than I did and now he wants a detector for christmas...HH

Love that silver Nana

I found out that when I find a silver coin or a keeper I tend to stick around that area for a bit. 8 out of 10 times it pays off more.. If it doesn't then I cherry pick the area for another sweet spot.

Shoot......She doesn't live there, the house next door she rents out, and the store hasn't been open for business for many years, but that it has been there for about 100 years. I would think the place had already been hunted to death, but ya never know! 8) The grass was really high and should be cut within the next week. Maybe some more goodies to be found there yet!
