Through map research, went into a new area with a detecting friend. Bushwacked till we came to a cellar and terraced paddocks. Friend nabbed an ox nob in the old cow path. Then we started circled around the property. I made my way behind the cellar and got a jumpy mid 20s on the equinox. I called ox knob and friend said KG. We were both way off. Turned out to be a 1718 2 reales pistareen! This takes the cake for oldest silver coin by a long shot, as well as oldest coin. I also got a flat button shortly after that. We decided after a couple hours to come back another day. We just werent getting many signals and sometimes a fresh time out will help that.

We left there and headed to a different spot that had a small collection of cellars/dwellings. My friend got the 1911 barber dime off the bat. I got a button not long after. Then he started pulling more buttons including those "storybook" types? with the roman looking guy on them. He has about 7 total from that 2nd spot. I got one as well but its pretty shot. Friend then rounds out the day with a really cool Pharaoh buckle! Overall it was a good day detecting and really good for March 5th in New England.
