So, I have a big piece of Iron I found alongside some old axe heads (and pick head) and some Early 1800s items. Most I have found in this area has been late 1700s to early 1800s. It was a farm into the 1960s but I have not found much from that era. I have also found a trigger guard and a butt plate from a flint lock musket a few feet from. The large cent was about 10 feet away and the large coat button about 10 feet in the other direction. I wasn't sure if it was a leg shackle to a cow, person, or a coupling of some sort for a stove. All up in the air. Any help appreciated. I am thinking early 1800s.

The small lead was from a further away area where shotgun shells are everywhere. I wasn't sure if it was related to a bullet in some way. Found near water.

Forgot to mention, I will be trying electrolysis on this one. I am hoping it doesn't crack in half.

Not a shackle .. The cogs on it are suggestive of a seed plate from an old grain drill or corn planter.

Your bullet / slug is from a modern black powder muzzle loader.

I will need to look that up. I figured it wouldn't be a shackle although it did remind me of one. I will post photos after the tank in a week or so. I am not sure how it will hold up.

Thanks, it wasn't in the area where I found the old stuff but the whole place has all sorts of hunting remains. So far the majority have been early 1900s shotgun shells. I don't know much about guns or bullets but I am learning. It didn't have much of a patina but so far the only one like it I found of its type.
