Hi
I tried out an old park yesterday and found a really big copper coin, it is 35 mm dia and 3 mm thick it weighs almost an ounce. I cleaned it and could just see a few details on it as the surface is so worn. I hopped on the net and checked out the History of the English penny and found out it is a cartwheel penny circa 1797. At 12 pence to the shilling a dozen of these in your pocket would sure have made you walk with a list!. Also found a few standard Aussie pennies of a later date a half penny and a couple of silver three pence's at the same park. Will have to return at a later date for a more careful search. The later coins in the pics were found at several parks over the last week.
Cheers for now
