I went to a house built in 1825 with my hunting buddy today. I'm in the front yard when I get a nice 82-86 signal on the AT Pro. I dig a plug and about 4 inches down I see rust followed by a big square nail. I put the nail in my bag, fill the hole, stand up and swing over the hole to double check it. That beautiful signal is still there, so I pop it back open and dig down deeper. My pinpointer leads me to what I thought was a underground electrical wire. I was going to just fill it in and move on but I thought I'd better show my buddy. I call him over and as he approaches I'm moving around the dirt and see shiny silver. My buddy knew I'd found something good because I stood up and and started to celebrate. The "wire" turned out to be a dark wet root and the silver a 1920 walking half. I haven't always taken the time to double check my plugs but I'm certain I will from now on.
