Big storm on the treasure coast..who all is going there?

Douglas Beach Wreck Site - no good cuts/erosion. Best bet is what Phipsfolly posted. Look at the dune line.

Just got back from searching for a good beach to detect that started at 5 am this morning. I started at Jensen Beach: Waves up and over the dunes, No Cuts. Slopped Beach. Waveland Beach: 3ft cut undetectable due to high surf, Waves hitting the dunes hard. Walton Rocks: High surf hitting the dunes lots of debris in the surf. No Cut. Blind creek: Surf in the dunes No Cut. Douglas/Brooks beach: High surf No cuts. Pepper Park: High Surf, Lots of debris, No cut.
17th St Beach: Bathing area washed out, High surf, No cuts. Detected for about 30 minutes, found a nail and 1 penny. JC Park: closed. 4 ft cut, waves hitting the dunes hard. Seagrape/Turtle Trail: Closed Treasure Shores: Closed Ambersands: Closed Went about 1/4 mile north of McLarty Museum and searched that area for about an hour, my best find of the day was at this beach.
(a 1972 Green Nickel)
Hopefully the next 2 high tides produce better conditions.

You do get around! Your new business card..."Have Metal Detector, Will Travel"

Thanks for the update Twi.

Anyone have any luck beach hunting today? I did... I found lots of beaches, just none with any treasure on them!

Anybody? Anyone?

Only thing i found Friday was a penny. And LOTS of trash.

Found 51 cents in clad and lots of assorted junk but no shipwreck treasures. Had a great time but wore myself out, even with my girl digging all the hits for me. Wabasso was pretty cut, Bonsteel, McLarty area and Tracking Station not as much. All of these pics taken within 2 hours of low tide. ds 509.webpds 603.webpds 602.webpds 502.webpds 601.webpds 504.webpds 505.webp

I found two quarters, a nickel, dime, a 1952 penny and an Eastern Carribeann Dollar coin. And LOTS of metal detectors!

Jensen Beach Dunes were washing out yesterday. Picked up $1.54 cents in green coins and a silver earing. Then I got hit by a nice size wave..lol

I was there during the storm and my Flag is still standing.IMG00085.webp

"Much of the damage, estimated at $7.4 million, took place in the 6.6-mile stretch of beach that recently underwent a $15.5 million restoration project"

That's a neat little cycle they have going there.

So these "damage estimates" are for the cost to replenish the beach. Hmmmmmmmmm

I didn't see any dangerous cliff at Turtle trail.

At McLarty's today. Got a picture of the rainbow.
Pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
This is looking Northeast, Puts the pot of gold around the Cabin wreck, Nicey nice.
Second picture is looking south at the Disney Condos, Step footers washed out at Park to the north.

I think that after the Sandy hurricane it could be a good idea to start treasure-hunting... Even an old shipwreck was uncovered on the coast. Very interesting indeed!
