I am scheduled to get 46 half dollar boxes this week, plus whatever else I can scrounge up. I'll post all finds here.
Started by opening a dime bag off the coin counter, and right off the bat found my first pair of earrings. Not marked silver though.

Bet that was a nice sight after those skunk boxes. Its a little dark but looks in nice shape too.

Congrats and good luck with the rest.

Box 9 of 10 gave up another 90%, this time JFK.

Im opening a new bank acct in the morning so I can have a dump bank and start ordering boxes again and your getting me anxious to start getting boxes again.

Always love seeing those silver edges. :happy3:

How do you stretch out 10 boxes in 2 days? I would open all of them right away, not knowing kills me haha

Was thinking the same thing- I have a hard time stopping for dinner until my wife yells at.me to get in the kitchen :)

just keep stacking, just keep stacking, stacking stacking stacking

Slow going here. I work, then dumped some, then picked up 4 more half boxes and a dime box, have a wife and baby that need attention, and I really am not feeling well this evening.

So, back to the hunt results. Box 10 of 10 was a skunk. Time for today's boxes. The dime box yielded 4 silver FDRs and a 1989 Trinidad and Tobago 1 cent coin.

4 dimes from a box is killer!

Boxes 1 and 2 of 4 for yesterday's boxes were skunks. Box 3 of 4 had a 1964 ender and a 40%. One more box to go and then I'll be back on track.

Box 4 of 4 from yesterday was a skunk. 14 total half boxes gave up 5 40%, 2 90% kens, and 1 walker. 1 dime box gave up 4 silver FDRs. 1 dime bag gave up nothing. Now to dump all boxes, pick up two more, and brace myself for the grand finale on Friday - 30 boxes.

Wow! A hunting budget in excess of $23K!?! I'm impressed! I don't think I will ever float that much for hunting at any one time.

Well the dollar amount could obviously vary depending on the mixture of dimes boxes compared to half dollar boxes...

Either way, 30 boxes of even dimes is going to be about $7500 if I did my math correct. My hat is off to you sir!

Do you pick up a certain number of boxes, search and dump before picking up the next batch or do you litterally have thousands (or tens of thousands) of dollars just rolling around with you? Either way, be safe!

I'm dumping 14 searched boxes today, so I do not need $23k. 30 boxes requires $15k. And this is just a one-time thing, definitely not what I have budgeted.

I mostly buy half dollar boxes. I ask for dime boxes/bags if I have extra cash.

It seems like most of ur finds from those boxes were enders which is kinda strange. The boxes probably weren't as good as u were hoping but least u had a nice % of 90% to 40% including a Walker which is always nice. And that was a really good dime box too. I think my best dime box had 4 keepers. Good luck with ur big p/u on Friday. Look forward to seeing ur results.

H$H!

Reluctantly updating this post. I ended up splitting the 30 boxes with my brother since he's been helping me keep my house warm by keeping my wood furnace blazing while I'm still working and living hours away. My brother thought splitting the boxes was a nice gift to him...until we opened them...
30 boxes yielded 6 keepers. We found 3 coins each. 26 skunk boxes. His keepers were all 40%. My keepers were a regular old 40%, a Ben, and a 1970-S. It was nice finding my first 1970, but needless to say, we were disappointed.
The 30-box order didn't help much, but after more decent results from dimes and a solid 10-box order of halves yesterday, I'm now 13 ounces away from hitting 200 for the year. Doesn't look like it is going to happen!

Sorry to hear about all the disappointing boxes. Slim pickens but at least u found a Ben and your first '70. Ive still never found a '70D or '70S half CRHing yet myself. So u have another 10 boxes coming in before the end of the year? Good luck....I hope those produce better results for u.

H$H!

Hey Styfflin, that does suck, probably just in a bad run of boxes, don't worry, it will pass ( hopefully :)) On the other hand, very cool to find the 70, I think it took over a year for me to find my first, granted, I found 2 Barbers first before the 70, but still took a long time. HH,. Maverick.

You got the skunks out of the way. Well, probably not all of them... Here's hoping for a better 2014. Personally, I haven't found a Ben in 6 months and I've never found a 70. So you got that goin' for you.
GL and HH!
