He left us this morning. A real dedicated husband, metal detecrorist, a writer, a helper, a bundle of knowledge and a fine gentleman. I am going to really miss him. May he rest in peace.......

Hated to hear about his loss. I really enjoyed reading his informational posts. RIP. Monty

sorry to hear this he was a wealth of information when i was begining.prayers go out to his family.

I think this is one of the hardest things on this site is when we lose someone !
Hope all goes as well as can be for his family .

Rest in Peace .

Hate to hear this.....people should think about all the insignificant stuff they complain about, me included.

I have been reading Bill's field tests and articles since the mid 90's. I got a chance to talk with him via the internet in the last ten years and he was a real asset to the hobby. He will be greatly missed. A legend passes but will not be forgotten. R.L.

Sad to hear it.

His troubles are behind him now and he is off to a better place.

Safe journey Bill.

It was really sad to hear this. I talked to him by phone when he was in the hospital a couple times but he didn't sound good at the time. Sorry to hear of his passing. He was a great guy

May he rest in peace and prayers to his family as well.
