I have been selling on eBay for a couple years now but have only really picked up the volume recently. I mainly sell coins but also some other stuff. I used to do more auctions but now do more BIN with best offer.

For all you eBay regulars on here, what guidelines do you use to decide whether to list something as BIN or auction?

Thanks

I generally list auctions & start them at the minimum I'd take for the item.

Commom, lower priced items i have no problem auctioning. A $500 bust half, where there aren't as many collectors as say Morgans, and is unaffordable to the avg collector? I do buy it now. Too much risk to auction off imo.

BIN: Several past sold examples show my exact item is worth X amount

Auction: fewer past examples to go by or something exceptional about my item, always start at least $ you'd accept and adjust from there.
