First picture is Dad's finds from yesterday that include 1 Roman Coin. Dads been helping an American friend detect & we all tried a 2.2 acre bird cover area today:

2 Scrappies
2 Lead Tokens
Medieval Barrell Lock piece
Roman Cavalry Horse Leather Mount (first of this type for me):icon_thumright:

An OK day (5 hours) was had by all, with the US chap getting a scarce tombac button with MAPPEN WISBECH in reverse & a 17th C button. See below example in the British Museum:

Nice to hear that playing hosts to visiting dirt diggers. Cool button and it makes one wonder how many rare ones are tossed because of no shank & just being a plain tombac regardless of the makers mark.
 

Crusader the ground raider neat spirits top label and buttons . Are those stirrup remnants in the photo with the musket ball and the spirits label, always neat to see what you post,vanzutphen

As far as I'm aware no other tombac have makers marks, this is the only ones I know of & yes they are all plain, so easy to miss.

2 parts of a large shoe buckle.

If that's the case of the only one, I can see why the BM acquired the button.

I like the Pratts XXX Spirit Cap! :o

The Roman Cavalry Horse Leather Mount is a nice find, I love finding anything horse related. :laughing7:
