Given to me by a co-worker, he stated this was found by his uncle years ago in Tennessee close to the Alabama border. I usually wouldn't accept any artifact given to me but he had it in a box, handed it to me, we talked for a minute or two then as he was leaving he said I know you don't accept these from others but keep it anyways. I'm not familiar with Tennessee styles but guessing that it could be a Adena stemmed, opinions are more than welcome. I can actually say that I have a artifact not found in Florida, Georgia or Alabama. I believe it to be authentic. Measurements are 4 1/4 by 1 1/16.

Thanks Tdog, never heard of Pontchartrain type before but it's definitely a possibility, also thanks for the link.

I agree it looks like a pontchartrain. One side was likely damaged and salvaged. Very neat item.

2 votes for Pontchartrain and after some research I agree, So that's what it will be then.
