Bit of history please

Our club will be demonstrating prospecting, panning to a Boy Scout troop this Monday. I plan to set up my highbanker to show the basics of capturing some cons. How did the piece of machinery get to be called "highbanker"? Thank you in advance.

That ^^^^^ and, since it is away from a water source, it requires an independent water supply to run the sluice.

I was taught that the High banker, is the modern day equivalent of the gold rush era “Rocker box.” A good rocker box operator could move three-cubic yards (bank measure), per 10-hour shift. The high sided box on the rocker, gave rise to larger capacity and mechanized “high bankers,” meaning they were able to move twice the yardage.
