Bits'nPieces, spanish silver and a cool counterfeit

Harvest is there and fields are open! :hello2: Not the fields you can expect much from, but it's good to know that the field season is open!
Three hours on different fields brought a couple coins, some lead, a really cool watch winder and a weird counterfeit coin, size of a roman denarius, possibly cast, came out shiny like on the pics with a little gilt remaining, core seems to be copper. Both sides have the same head on them.
I dug the the spanish silver a couple weeks ago an did not post it until now. My first spanish and i'm happy about!!!:headbang:

Very nice Westfront. It happens often ,you see a gold color coming out of the dirt and excitement turns to despair.
What year was the Spanish silver? Love the watch winder .

Thanks buddy!
ID by joesdigs and Mackaydon: 1/2 real coin; Seville mint, undated, minted during the reign of Ferdinand and Isabella 1474-1504. Thanks again for that!
The watch winder is french, nice patina on it! The prussian 20 Pfennig silver 1875 is something you did not get very often and i like the 1/4 Kreuzer from 1813, they usually are in much worse shape. Too bad the bronze piece on the button pic far right is broken. Looks to be from a roman marble statue. All in all not a bad day.

The fake appears to be a Greek or Macedonian coin- if genuine would be 300 BC or thereabouts - I think in the era of Alexander "the Great "

Nice watch winder!

Dad's thoughts:

No real clue as to the gilt coin Westfront posted. However, It would seem to mimic either one of the early Greek BC Gold Stators (my intuition lies here) or possibly a Roman Republican BC coin but they were mainly silver. I would not know where to look as there are so many Greek City coins etc but some did have faces on both sides as did the odd Republican too.

I agree with Argentiun - looks Greek or Macedonian

That's a very cool looking copy for sure, lots of detail as it's nice and crisp, and the watch winder is really nice with detail and the patina. I see that you get your share of WWll fragments out of the fields also, they sure ring up nice.

Cool finds.. Hope your success continues..

Great to get a Spanish! That coin is a beautiful high-relief example. Are you certain it's Roman?

My first thought was Greek too, but just too little knowledge on greek coins.

Thanks Cru, too bad that you never know the story behind such a coin. I'd like to know if this one is contemporary.

Thanks! I get 20 to 30 pounds of WWII brass out of the fields per year. These are our pulltabs. Driving bands sound too angled compared to a coin signal, cal. .50 casings and fuze fragments too big, but you have to dig them anyways...

Thanks BB! This fake coin is really nice! I'm unsure about the age. Roman fields, yes. Celtic tribal area before roman times, yes. Celts are known to copy greek coins. But this isn't a copy, this is clearly a fake. So who knows. :dontknow:
