Bizarre coin spill

Had some free time so I thought I’d hit a school that closed down about 15 years ago. Yesterday I pulled a 1882 IHP (not shown) and a NY pendant marked .925. Today I went back with my Nox and hit it a little harder. Got a strong 20-21 signal @ 4 inches and out popped 3 oriental coins😳

If anyone could be so kind as to offer any points of origin, that would be great! Not much on the reverse of any of them, so I’ll post pictures if needed.

Those are Chinese cash coins and were used for hundreds of years. You can date them, do a google search. Yours are in great shape.

So I did a google search, and found the “Chinese cash coin ID” Wikipedia page AND did you know they made lots and lots and lots of different types&#55357;&#56853; this is going to give me a headache, but I’ll figure it out sooner or later. Thanks again Smokey

Probably, the hill I found them on was also a popular spot to watch fireworks back in the day and there is a small Chinese community in that part of town. Who knows, I’d like to think it was an extra deep hole &#55357;&#56876;

That’s what I was thinking. I found a Chinese cash coin in a 1920s yard a couple years back. The homeowner told me he remembered his dad bringing them back as souvenirs in the 60s and found another one in the house to show me. Cool find!

I have found a number of them along the railroad tracks here. I'm guessing the Chinese helped lay some of the original track back in the day of the steam locomotives. Nice finds!

thee Cash / Cache coins were Probably Lost Turn of the Century ,
Unless they were Show & Tell Items. I've found Obvious Items Kids Brought to School To
Show Off Either in Class or At Recess.

But Though the Cache Coins can be Centuries Old,
They were Popular Here in the U.s. With Gambling,
And Most likely in Chinese stores & with Private Debts Between them 1880's through 1910

Cool find! We find lots of them out here near the Older RR's and mining towns. We were told the Chinese workers would use them as game pieces, buttons and would tie THREE of them with a piece of string as good luck on their clothing.

I did some research on the school and it dates back to the 1910’s . We will never know, I might send a picture of the coins to my buddy Al in California, he’s from Taiwan sooooooooooooooooooo
