Blank Kennedy half planchet - Anyone else?

Well the 2001-D are not done in California yet, but at least they provided an interesting coin. I finally found a blank planchet in the half dollar size.

Has anyone else found one?

Yes, mine is a raised rim version,, so I guess that makes it a Type 2 blank planchet.

Nice find.. haven't gotten any of those yet. I actually still have a box of 2001-D that I haven't dumped just sitting around.

I recall that when David Carr bought his mint press from the denver mint. I recalled seeing pics of it on the PCGS forum and there were still a couple of blank planchets under the machine along with some new minted halves like 1989-D or something like that. I just thought wow.. free refund with the blank planchets found.

I think $5-$10 is typical for type 2 blank planchets, but for a half dollar in uncirculated condition, which is going to be much less common, and more attractive because fo the size, so it might be significantly more. I see one just like yours went for $46.90 on eBay. There are some listed at $95, but I think that's probably unreasonable.
