The name is W.SMITH Indianapolis, IND. It's form is different with a neck than the others I've found. It's smaller in size also. Any idea's? THANX.. HH

Hey SURF. You sure do know your glass. Thanx for the info. There's no maker's mark that I see. Would it be on the base? Are pony's a lil' more unusual than most? THANX again for all the help bud!! HH

I've been digging bottles for years, and I've tried to learn all I can about them.

Would it be on the base? Are pony's a lil' more unusual than most?

Maker's marks are frequently on the heel, sometimes in a small font. The pony is a "style" of bottle, a transition from the type called squats. They are 1875ish date wise.

You might ask the Indiana Historical Society. They've gone all social media: faceplace Indiana Historical Have a gander at the 1884 Polk's to see if he's listed: Full text of "Polk's Indiana State gazetteer and business directory"
