Bluenoser's ball of steel and silver "O" with a century

From the land of the Bluenose.....well my day and a half off arrived so after being "bent, stapled and vibrated" by the Chiro Killer from Kenya I hobbled out to a local school/playing field and just enjoyed being in one piece.

Had to share the park with some rug rats who eventually all ended up followed me around forming what must have looked like a train with 20 cars behind it running down a serpintine track. No matter which way I turned and twisted...there they were asking me more questions than Alex Trebuc on Jeopardy! "Hey mister whatz you doing?" "Hey mister why you digging metals?" "OHHHHHHHHH there's a worm!" Lord love a duck.

I survived and ended up with a steel ball, silver earing, silver ring ,button magnet, pressed Peggy's Cove penny, marble, golf egg and 105 coins @ $12.50

Nice job Les. Nice job on the silver. I could not imagine having that steel ball in your ear.

Hey Les, you did well considering your entourage. I had a similiar but rather humorous thing yesterday. One of the kids asked me, "Are you a poor person?" I told him "Yes."
"How much money do you have?" he asked me. "I don't have any". "My brother and I have a lot of money." he bragged. "Hey Mom," he yelled across the tot lot, "he is a poor person!" I should have been embarrased but I had a vision of this kid in 20 years. I see him as an arrogant, know it all, boss of his daddy's business. I've met a lot of them over the years, this kid has gotten an early start. Again, nice finds.

Nice silver ring!

Very nice coin count as well. Someone should come up with a handbook on "Managing Children While Detecting in Public".

Chapter One. Snappy Answers.

Chapter Two. Safety First: Or Sharp diggers and Tiny Fingers.

Ect...

Last month at the beach a little girl ran behind me and bumped her forehead on my DFX. Her father saw what happened and laughed. It's distracting when you get more than five or six of them around you at once!

Congratulations!

You're lucky that was the father's response. I hunt beaches (mostly in the early AM or late PM to avoid people), and post on water hunting forums and there have been more than a few of us who have been threatened and/or harrassed by parents and kids alike. One guy recently had a father get in his face and tell him that if he bumped into one of his kids what his detector he was going to "kill" him.

It's so much more peaceful and quiet from sunrise to about 9am on the beach and in the parks usually!
