I know this is related to South American artifacts but there is just more traffic on the North American forum. I picked this up in in Bolivia about 10 years ago from an old Indian woman. I haven't been able to find any info on Incan points so I thought I'd throw it out there to you all. Any info would be appreciated ... well from its size i would say it pre-dates the bow and arrow in the Americas...so 2,500 years old plus...but that is assuming it is a projectile point and not a socket-ed knife. but i am guessing really as i have no expertise in that area...however...

theses guys are aces, i have asked them questions and sent them pictures before and they are very helpful.

Thanks unclemac! My wife is fluent in Spanish, I will ask her to write up a quick letter to them. Thanks for the help.

there is a place to translate the page somewhere on that link...there must be since my Spanish is limited...and the reply has always been in English too.

why?..I've never had a problem and I find them very knowledgeable and helpful.

joshuaream what do think the issue would be in emailing them with the story? Potentially that it is an artifact desirable to the museum or something of that nature? I've had it for over 10 years and the woman who sold it to me was an elderly Indian woman who said it was found in the mountains near to La Paz.

OK. I just perused your link joshuaream and understand your concern now. I don't necessarily believe that this blade/point fits those descriptions in the lithics section but it may not be worth any ruffled feathers that it may cause in the aftermath. I'll probably just take the info I have and do what research I can. Thanks for the heads up!

Nice artifact
