Great picture. Ever time I drive that long and flat I see a different view of that place. To me at time it seems like your not on planet earth anymore out there. I once saw a dust storm of salt in the dry season. It was bazaar seeing this white cloud wall moving in fast at ya.

I know what you mean. I get that same feeling. I have never seen the salt storm. Bet that would make your eyes burn.

It did burn your eyes and you could taste it in the air. I took this pic of it on my phone. I bet I was standing very close to where your were when I took this picture.

I was at a Bonneville race event several years ago and it is an interesting place. One of the mountains is named the floating mountain due to the mirage effect created from the heat radiating off the salt although you can't see that effect in the picture. It appears to be floating in the air. There was streamliner cars capable of over 300 mph and some not so fast at the event.

Cool pictures 45, I've only seen the race cars in Wendover when they gather in town for the event. They have so many interesting concepts in salt flat racing.
