BOOM! Diamond Solitaire!!

Hello All,

I'm SO stoked! Every year my wife and I spend a week at the beach and of course I do what I do best--DIG! So it's a little early for the bulk of the tourists to get there but it was really relaxed and nice! The first two nights I got into some coin spots and dug and dug (I'll maybe add the coins to this post later on, but I dug my butt off!). The third night I got into a spot that had a lot of heavy iron and some lead sinkers. I spent most of my time there clearing it out hoping for gold, but there was no gold to be found. The last night I hit some cuts where the sand had been removed. While the tide went out I hit the first beach then got into the water. Getting down to the second beach I battled the waves for a while as the tide finished receeding, then worked my way back up the beach in reverse fashion to hit the first cut. Digging a couple pieces of deep iron and an earring, I circled around and got a dime. Then following back up the cut around 11pm, I popped out a DIAMOND SOLITAIRE! I just said "no f#$%^ way" and as soon as I saw the 14K mark I knew it was real!

This is the best gold ring I've dug in my 30 years in the hobby.

Great find, so BB, did the better half lay claim to it? My wife gets first claim on all my finds, she took 6 of my 7 diamond ring finds, the 7th was a man's diamond ring.

Again great find, got to love those gold rings shining in the scoop....

haha she did indeed lay claim to it! “That’s just my size” lol so now if I don’t give it to her I’ll be in the doghouse ��

Two thoughts.
Congrats on the diamond ring find. That always feels good.
I have been in awe of your relic finds for years and I am blown away that I am ahead of you in the diamond ring category.
The 7 diamond ring in my avatar is worn almost daily by my wife. I would estimate I have found around 15 to 20 total in the last 30 years of occasional detecting, not counting 3 or 4 wedding bands that have been found upon request for couples when they saw me detecting at the beach.

Haha yes this is the best ring I’ve dug buy it isn’t the only Diamond ring I’ve dug in the past 30 years. I started water hunting in 2014 so haven’t been at it long, most of my rings have been dug on land. I appreciate the kind words my friend, I like water hunting a lot more than I thought I ever would. Of course, finds like this really helped!

Just think of all the tears shed by women that lost their diamond ring at the beach.(and a few men) Along the Atlantic, I'd bet there's more diamond rings in the sand than most jewelry stores have. Great find! Go back for another! Gary

Oh I bet so! Wow. It’s crazy how many wear their good jewelry into the water. Of course, the wedding band/engagement ring itself and its meaning makes it hard to remove it but my wife and I both remove ours even when we metal detector or bottle dig on land!

Great find Buckleboy. This is not a typical post for you, I'm use to opening your thread and seeing all those Seated coins ! When I saw your title, I just had to look.

totally a change of pace for me! One week per year my wife and I go to the beach and she suns and I dig. I’ve been lucky enough to get an average of just over one gold ring per year, spending 3-4 nights each year digging. One of those years I dug 5 gold rings—four of them in one night!

That’s a SWEET ring

Although I don’t believe it’s a “diamond solitaire”.......

In the photo it appears there are 8 more diamonds inset in the top of the band. A “solitaire” setting only has one stone.

Right now down here in the keys people will be losing some great jewelry at the hundreds of public and local swimming holes. This is one of the biggest swimming holidays of the year down here. Gonna be alot of heart break this weekend, and alot of great finds next week !! Ill be hoping for diamonds.
