Couple more. The one with large hole in it might be natural but it was found in a high concentration area.

Wow! That's some killer hardstone! I guess I will be the unfortunate Guy to follow all that :-)
This is my pride and joy. 500 miles "roughly" to the nearest source of this material from where I found it.
Hope you heal up quick!

Wow that's a well traveled stone. Beautiful Celt and so well made. Thanks for sharing gator.

Had a horrible time uploading photos on the smartphone app. It crashed three times. Hopefully this one of the bit works. Sorry about the re-post.

Worked great. Can't see any damage on that. Every once in a while my tnet app will just close while I'm using it. Not a big deal but annoying. Also my pics won't load in the order I upload them. Not big problems just wierd.

Just went backed and looked and I didn't put up my best piece. How could I overlook that!

Awesome looking artifacts! :icon_thumright: Hope your surgery went well and that you recover quickly. :)

Me too. 5 teeth out and a biopsy that they had to drill through my jaw bone to get to. Ouch.

Here's an Axe I found a couple years back. It's got a little bit of ancient damage to one side of the poll but you can see it was still used after it was damaged because of the polish on the break.

Love that polished green stone reaper. Everything else as well. Hoping to have a collection of fine hard stone like that in years to come.

Bit on that chisel is intense!

Just wanted to comment on the damage to the poll of your piece Steve. I've seen so many ground axes and Celts with the same type damage all with uniform patina. I'm beginig to think it happens during hafting. (Knocking it into place) I've seen Celts with zero bit damage with chipped poll ends. "Just a though"

Here are some of my headstone Bsit. All from the same 3 acre field.

Keep your eyes on the ground.

Damn Johnny. I'm hunting 40 acres and I'm only finding broke axes. Both my full ones are from water and my celts come from erosion sites. Good looking hardstone.

All if mine are surface finds in plowed ground. Between 4 of us we have found almost 50 axes at our site. All if them in the picture are personal surface finds except for the monster at the bottom. My little brother found that one..

Here is a better look at the bug one.

It weighs 12.5 lbs. It is 10.5 inches in length, 6 inches wide and 3.25 inches thick. it's 3/4 groove and it has a plow scar on one side and it looks like it could have been used as some sort of mortar/grinding stone on the other, which is definitely plausible considering the size.

Hope you get to feeling better soon. Hope this helps.
