Has anyone ever had the problem with this detector giving false readings. I walk around my back yard and get all kinds of high readings. I am wondering if it's picking up underground wires or pipes. I have tried to adjust Ground Balance and sensitivity. Still does it. This happened the other day at the beach also. I will just keep playing with it I am brand new to the hobby. It is frustrating not knowing if it's the machine or me. I am guessing the latter

It is normal when you are starting to understand the detector to hear what you "think" are readings. Detectors beep all the time, it is just the repeatable ones that you want to dig. Take your time learning your detector and you will soon find that false readings start to dissapear as for magic. ... HH
