KKC got out to a new site today. Kyle did the research and Zeus secured the permission from the nice lady. The day started off nicely with the group finding 2 Colonial buttons in just a few minutes. After that, it seemed like a big tease. We had visions of Colonial coppers popping out, but it wasn't meant to happen.

I can't complain though. I found this nice Braided Hair large cent. :hello2: It gave off a bad overload signal. Even though it read up at "Dollar," I wasn't too excited about it. I sure am glad that I dug it out. In the same hole, I pulled a square nail out. I wish I would have gotten that on film as well. :dontknow: The copper isn't Colonial, but this is my first Braided Hair in 4 years. My last one was in 2006. I am happy with it. :headbang: We dig more Colonial coppers here in PA than we do Braided Hair cents. :dontknow:

The pioneer settler must have had deep pockets or he was dirt poor. :dontknow: :icon_scratch: Our usual button to copper ratio is 2:1. I think this site was around 15:1. :icon_scratch: Next week we will try to gain permission for another field. :icon_thumleft:

Keep the passion high! :headbang:

Kirk :hello:

Hey a copper is a copper. I only found 4 total last year, I'm half way there already.
I'm sure you will find 20 again this year no problem. I'll try ,but no promises.

It isn't 60 coppers in 2 days, but it is a copper. And a nice-condition one, compared to the norm for your area. It's been a while since I dug a Braided. I think I only got one last year. At least that copper wasn't a year later--then it'd be a FE.

Good stuff. I like the neat tombac button. We found one or two with those pronounced humps on them last year at the site I dug the piece of a colonial shoe buckle at.

Cheers,

Buck

Man, that Braided Hair came out of the ground looking great! Hey, its STILL a coppa....maybe not colonial...BUT definitely a pretty one! Nothing at all wrong with diggin that nice copper  :icon_thumleft:

Glad to see some new KKC material.. Some sites just turn out to be coin duds.. Keep at it and ull eventually end up at another site like the one a couple weeks ago.. Jeff

Thanks, Buck, for the reply. My favorite buttons to dig are tombacs and we dig a lot of them. We know that we are swinging on an early site when they are popping out. I am due for my shoe buckle. :icon_scratch: I will get one this year. :dontknow:

I hope you are digging the goods as well.

Keep the passion high!

KKC will be adding new material every week or so. :headbang: We have so much research that it is flowing out of our pockets. :laughing7: Thanks, buddy, I hope the J-Team is killing the relics still. :headbang:

A largie is a largie and we'll take it here at KKC, Inc. :laughing9: We don't find Braideds a lot, so it makes it more special when we do flip one out.

Let's dig a pile of earlies next weekend! :icon_sunny:
