Farm is Older than Previously Thought. **W/Bucket Listers** 2-28-2026

Got out to the 1874 (on the map) farm today. First time out since January 11. We've had frigid cold and snowpack on the ground till a few warm days this past week. Couldn't get to where I wanted to go as there was still snowpack in the woods going toward the 1700's cellar hole. So, we stayed where the snowpack melted. Yep, I said we, my wife joined me today, first time since last November. I finally got to try my new Deus II HF2 coil. Worked great, worth the expense. Found me two bucket listers with it!

My wife found a bucket lister! An 1845 Braided Hair large cent. Her very first large cent!

She also found this. I was thinking a ball button, but it's heavy like lead. Maybe a lead pewter ball button?

Between the two of us we found a couple bullets each.

My bucket lister was this Liberty Cap half cent. Looks like 1794?

I found a convex button nothing on the face. Looks like DOUBLE GUILT on the back.

Found a partial sleigh bell.

I also found an 1863, IHP.

Also, my second bucket lister, a toe plate.

Looks like pictures 3-4-5 may not be a button. Looking like an improperly cast .45 caliber round ball. What looks like the broken shank is probably the sprue.

She was working in the slight snowpack and was muddy as can be. She was just about ready to pack it in right before she found the coin. After, she didn't care anymore about being all muddy. Just wanted to find more! LOL...

Thanks, hope things dry out a bit so we can get out to that spot I mentioned. I'd like to get there before the weeds get too bad.

I agree with Sibbley on the ball ID. I see a mold seam mark which is further evidence of casting, perhaps in a hand mold in which its two parts did not fit perfectly.
