I found this on an old homestead site that was active for about 60 years from 1850 - 1910.
It's made of stamped brass, it's very thin and was folded in three places when I found it.
I unfolded it and used some Weld-Bond Glue on the back to stabilize it, that is what the 'shiny stuff' is that you see.
The last pic shows another piece of decorative brass I found within 10' of the owl relic.
It's of similar thickness with a decorative top and bottom and had small tabs on either side.
Any thoughts on what this might have been?
