This is the metal find of the day. This is back marked H&BT RR. I found a pile of old bottles and a two stoneware pieces. The lock was used by The Huntingdon & Broad Top Railroad and is a rare find. The privy dirt preserved it pretty well. This is my second lock I have found from this line and I couldn't be happier. Thanks for looking! DD

Congratulations! Cool lock. :icon_thumleft:

Keep searching that privy!! Gotta be some old bottles shoved in there

Does that rr line have any kind of relationship with the East Board Top? Very nice switch lock!

Cool looking lock. I would love to dig a privy sometime. Wouldn't even know where to begin. :dontknow:

I like old railroad locks! Great find!

Did you ever come upon a key for the Huntingdon & Broad Top Railroad Lock?

That's awesome! That why I started detecting the dirt from the pit. Found few silver coins.

Nice hunk of RR brass...and your 2nd one even better. I love finding old padlocks. Makes me wonder what treasures lie behind locked doors!:icon_thumright:

With the prices some of these locks command, I'd love to see one on the finds banner up top at some point. Is the time frame on this one 1870-90?

GREAT find!

Cheers,

Buck
