I found this item along with a harmonica reed and lots of broken pottery. Property settled in 1840s and site of Union troop encampment in 1863. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Looks like half of a 1910'ish rivet style coat or pants button.

I would think so but it is threaded and 1 1/8 inches in diameter.
