i found this brass piece at a CW camp. Inside it , it has 2 "puppy feet" and a piece of leather still attatched..any idea what it is? Thanks in advance for your help.

Agree. Need better pics.

Also put something near it for size reference.

Don't use a white or light colored back ground. It reflects too much flash.

From the pics, which are not real clear, I would say that what you have is a musket nose cap. Nice find.
